South Africa

So .... yesterday I got an acceptance email from TLC (the Love of Christ Ministries) in South Africa, and I am super excited and nervous at the same time. I will be working at an orphanage for 1 month this coming January and I am not very comfortable around babies. I have done lots of babysitting in the past....but I really prefer toddlers who can talk :)

Despite my fear tho, God is sure at work. I knew since the beginning of this year that I should start saving up for something. I have been praying about what God wants me to do with this money and finally decided to take a step and see what doors He opens up. Being accepted to TLC is a door wide open and I will just keep moving forward until a door closes.

God has given me great friends that have been encouraging me so much - if God wants me there He will give me the strength. Also today I got an email from a good friend of mine who is oversees and he said that on Tuesday God told him to pray for South Africa and then he got an email from me saying I wanted to go there!

I was looking through my old photo albums just the other day and came across pictures from a trip I did in Bible College to innercity Toronto (see above). I had totally forgot that among other things, we spend a large part of our time helping out in a day care. All the kids in the day care were different nationalities and the ones that could talk all spoke different languages. God gave me a love for those kids much deeper than I thought possible, and I am certain that He will do the same in South Africa.
