I am home. I am back to work. But I don't really mind, I was actually starting to dream of getting ambulance calls. I figure it is probably a good sign to like your job enough to dream about it.
After being gone on Holidays for 3 weeks I came home to my garden overrun with giant weeds. Baby wasps are swarming my front door... AGAIN...this happened last year too. I hate wasps. My furnace is broken....although its not like I need it to be working yet. The sink in my basement is plugged beyond all hope. All my plants are dead...but they basically were before I left. But I better add that none of this was the fault of the sweet girls who were taking care of my place.
When I walked into my duplex it was obvious that my cat, Feliz, had not been impressed by my absence. All over my kitchen floor were little chunks of carpet. Luckily they were only from her scratching post which she tore to shreds. Also, many of my ornaments were on the floor....even one of the candle holders which normally sits inside a shadow box on the wall. Surprisingly only one ornament was broken...it was a ceramic cat and I had already broken its match, so it really didn't matter. I also did a fair amount of flea-marketting while in BC, so I have nicer ornaments to replace it with. Ha ha.
It really is nice to be home, kind of lonely after being with my family for 3 weeks straight, but relaxing at the same time. Plus I am really excited that Marian will be moving back on Sunday!!!! AND we have our plane tickets for South Africa!!!
